BUILDING / FABRICATING

Building/Assembling Environmental Test Chambers.

  • Performs cutting/welding equipment set-ups and adjustments necessary to produce structural weldments per print.
  • Fabricates structural weldments per manufacturing prints and parts lists, in accordance with quality requirements of the department.
  • Inspects parts produced for conformity to manufacturing prints.
  • Insulation and assembly of test chambers

WELDING (Will train)

  • Setup and use welding machines (TIG, MIG and Arc) for the proper material type and thickness
  • Identify proper welding technique required, for example, proper weld temperature, speed and penetration for the required material type and thickness, ability to correctly fabricate weldments that are square and true to the provided print(s), ability to properly weld the following normally used materials
  • Willingness to cross-train and work in other areas on a regular basis.

Helpful Skills and Knowledge:

  • Basic math and measuring skills
  • Ability to read (or willingness to learn to read) blueprints, schematics, and work instructions.
  • Experience using basic hand and power tools preferred.
  • Experience in MIG and/or TIG welding.
  • High school diploma or GED.

The employee must regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
